Preschool Story Time

Preschool Story Time is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., with occasional breaks during the year.  The program is geared toward toddlers and preschoolers, but babies are welcome as well.  Story times are based on early literacy skills that must be mastered before a child can learn to read, and include finger plays, nursery rhymes, songs, activities, books, and crafts. Adults enjoy networking and making new friends, and the children become such good friends!

Every year we have a visit from a quartet from the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, who conduct a musical story time at the library .  A member of the orchestra reads children’s books, while the quartet provides music and sound effects to go along with them.  There is an instrument petting zoo afterwards so that the children can touch and play instruments.  The quartet’s visit is always a hit with adults and children alike.  Our next visit from the KSO will be on Friday May 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.

If there is a special preschooler (or two or three…) in your life, we hope you will join us!  Please contact us at 423.562.1108 for more information.
